This past Monday & Tuesday a couple of friends and I
decided we needed to get away for a couple of days so we
went on a camping trip to Natural Bridges National
Monument. It was overcast & raining when we left town
It was raining a little when we arrived, but we decided
to hike the 5 miles between Sipapu Bridge &
Kachina Bridge anyways. Shortly into the hike the rain
stopped. As soon as we got back to the car it started raining.
It worked out beautifully. On Tuesday we hiked 10 miles
in Bullet Canyon in Cedar Mesa. Our plan was to hike to
the Perfect Kiva & Jailhouse ruins, but we got turned
around on the map and stopped about half a mile short
of the ruins. We decided we did it intentionally so we
have an excuse to go back. Here are a few pics from
the trip.

Me climbing down the wall.

In our camp the fire-box had been broken off the pole it should have been on.
Brady & I did not have a trouble traversing around the pole while we stayed
at the camp. Bret on the hand...well you see how well he did.
Hopefully this the first of many adventures we will exprience together. I will let you
know how our future expeditions turn out.

Picture Tag

I have been tagged by my friend Mindy. This is how it works. In your pictures file pick the 6th file and then the 6th picture. Post the picture and blog about it. This is the picture that fit that criteria. It's a picture from a hike that Levi went on, so I am going to let him explain it.

My friend Brett and I went on a hike in the San Rafel Swells about a month ago. It was a beautiful day for a hike. I can't wait to go back and hike some other slots. I took this picture about have way through Little Wild Horse Canyon. It didn't turn out like I hoped, but here it is.

Michael's Birthday

Michael has had another birthday. He got some new clothes and a couple of books, and one great big party. We invited all of our friends and family over. Some aunts and uncles and cousins that live out of town got to be there.

Here is Michael with his birthday cake. It's a super-easy-to-make-but-looks-really-impressive ice cream cake. It's so yummy and I love to make them.

Here's Michael with his very own piece of birthday cake with strawberries on top. Michael loves strawberries and ice cream.

Our Fun Weekend

We had a very fun weekend this past weekend. Aunt Ashley and Uncle Jacob came to visit us. We had a good time hanging out and doing a little bit of hiking.

The kids decided to crawl in the cabinet under the sink at Grandpa's house while all of the adults were putting together a puzzle.

Michael fell in a bush before our hike even got started. It caused me to wonder if he would be up to the hike. He did really well though, and only needed a little bit of help from Uncle Jacob to get back up the hill at the end.

We couldn't get the kids to all stay sitting still. They wanted to get up and run around. Ashley and Jacob look cute though.

Look at the beautiful scenery where I live.
